Curing problems at your event -High Profit Speaker

Are you prepared to learn?
Speaker_Training_Systems copy 2By Douglas Vermeeren

In thinking about what to write about today I had an interesting experience that brought to my mind something that we never really talk about very often in personal development. I recently attended an event from another speaker where several of the attendees were not prepared to participate. They came in late disrupting the group. One of them had a cellphone in hand finishing a conversation as they entered. Another was completely unprepared to take notes and immediately got up from their chair to hunt the room for a pen and paper.

And the organizer was no better. They had AV troubles from the beginning. There weren’t enough chairs for attendees and people either stood at the back or tried to solve things on their own with the hotel staff. It was a really distracting place to learn. (And the tickets to this event were not inexpensive.)

As I sat in the audience I thought about how these situations could have been avoided and the entire experience improved upon. I thought to myself how odd it was that people invested to be there yet they arrived unprepared. How different is this than other experiences we encounter in life?

If you ordered furniture you’d make space for it. If you paid for a vacation you’d pack a suitcase and bring your passport. Rarely do people miss their flights, in fact most arrive early. So why don’t they do this with seminars they attend?

Rather than share all the answers that I believe I would like to open this topic up for discussion and use this as a platform to gather data so that this reading can prevent this from happening at their own events. Please share your thoughts on why this happens and how to fix it in the comment section.

How Thoughts Become Things. A brand new movie that explores the connections between what we think and what we receive in our lives. Learn the connections between the Law of Attraction and the discoveries of modern Neuroscience.
It’s not just that thoughts become things. The important part is How and what you become in the process.
This new Law of Attraction / Neuroscience film will be exhibiting at the NSA (National Speakers Association) nation convention in Orlando Florida, from July 17 – July 20, 2010. (For more information on this event go to: http://www.NSA convention.org )
At this event speakers, coaches and trainers from around the world gather to explore what is new and exciting in the personal development world.  At the event this year the movie “How Thoughts Become Things” will be present as one of the featured exhibitors for up and coming attractions and events that are sure to be of great interest in 2011. Since the announcement of this exciting film it has been attracting interest from around the globe. Not since the 2006 release of The Secret has there been a film that has dared explore the connection between thought, the Law of Attraction and Neuroscience in such a comprehensive and applicable way.
“This will be a movie quite different than our previous film, ” Stated Douglas Vermeeren, who was the producer of the film The Opus. The Opus featured Secret Alumni; Jack Canfield, Joe Vitale, John Demartini, Marci Shimoff, Bob Doyle and Morris Goodman. Also featured in the film were other personal development luminaries like Mark Victor Hansen, Bill Bartmann, LuAn Mitchell, Ed Rush, Joe Rubino, Peggy O’neill and Vermeeren himself. The Opus explored how to turn your vision of your ideal life into a workable plan and then bring it into performance in your life. The Opus is currently available on DVD and as a book through Random House publishers.
“One of my goals in the film is provide practical strategies for overcoming and controlling negative thoughts.” Vermeeren continued, “If we can learn how to direct our thoughts and give them leadership we can begin to take control of outcomes. Thoughts that are left  without leadership generally have a hard time producing lasting and powerful results.”
Vermeeren also stated that his films are built to provide practical information and inspiration. He wants people to understand that Neuroscience plays a massive role in how our thoughts are shaped, formed and turned into behaviors.
More on the film, including the official trailers can be seen on the official website http://www.HowThoughtsBecomeThings.com  There is also a group that can be joined on FaceBook where Vermeeren and his team have been posting regular updates.
