Systems are the foundation of success in almost anything. The give you the ability to create results, repeat them and improve on them. Systems are the key ingredient in creating leverage. Unless you use systems you will always be stuck in the rat race and trading your time, effort, opportunity and freedom t make things happen in your life. Systems allow you to get other people, technology, services and devices working on your behalf.

Imagine a carpenter trying to put in a nail without a hammer. That’s where most people stop. Now imagine you have a carpenter with a hammer who will put the nail in for you while you’re doing something else.

That’s what I am really talking about.

How are you using systems to grow your wealth and success?

Don’t Suck at Selling #3

Don't suck at selling Shut up
Don’t Suck at Selling #3

Shut up and listen

This one is pretty obvious and most likely you’ve heard it before. But if that’s really true why do we need to keep saying it again and again?

Well, to be quite frank it’s because people are still not listening.

And even if you are a listener this is a skill that can improved every single day.

I am always amazed at how many people that attend my sales seminars say that they are really good listeners. And then they won’t shut up. That’s all the evidence I need.

This is especially obvious at the early stages of a selling relationship. When you first meet a prospect it is your job to do the investigation to see if these people are qualified. And if they are not sure they are qualified you need to listen enough so you can help them see they are, if that’s the case.

Too many crappy sales people rush in to get the sale and that they slide right past discovery into a presentation. (Yikes -Sales suicide!)

I was recently at a networking event and I couldn’t believe what I saw. I saw a “salesperson” corner a potential prospect, who by the look on his face obviously wanted to escape the moment they entered the trap.

All the clues of desperation were there. Looking at the watch. The body language of trying to squeeze past. The longing glance away for help. The disinterested nods. It was all there.

Yet this sales person didn’t get it. Instead he had even whipped out his phone to share a slide deck on his products I can only imagine what came next was a full presentation on his product line. What the heck? And even beyond what the heck, how does this delusional sales person actually think that he is going to be successful?

Obviously when you are listening you can’t just hear words. You need to be paying attention to everything. Especially look at body language.

And quite frankly had this crummy salesperson been doing that he would have easily seen that this prospect was not a prospect at all. He was a frickin’ prisoner. He was looking for an escape route the entire time, but this sales person was so wrapped up in himself that he couldn’t see how overbearing he was.

Try and listen next time. #douglasvermeeren #learntosellordie #salestips #1salestrainer #1salestraining #improveyoursales #sellmore

What do you value? Personal Power Mastery Minute by Douglas Vermeeren

As people it is our human nature to select the activities and habits in our life to lead with our highest values. One of the disappointments that we create for ourselves is that we try to fool ourselves into chasing and pursuing things that don’t matter to us at deepest levels. We often pursue the wrong things because we take messages from those around us or the media as to what we are told we should enjoy and appreciate. Authenticity to our highest values will create results and happiness. This can be seen in immediate gratification choices too. People grab what they think they want in the short term rather than what they really value in the long term. #douglasvermeeren #ppm #personalpowermastery #success #goalsetting #personaldevelopmentDouglas Vermeren Personal Power MAstery 189

Success requires you get committed to constant change and constant improvement You cannot stay stagnant and expect everything around you to stay the same. It never will. And even if something is working for you today it will very soon become obsolete. Progress and performance both require activity and forward motion. You can’t have lasting success if you don’t have lasting effort. #douglasVermeeren #personalpowermastery #PPM

Are you really invested in making something big happen? Over the years I have seen many people create success and I’ve seen many people just talk about it. As you can guess the big difference starts with how much the actually person desires to have success in their life. True desire creates action and activity. Those with true desire are willing to make sacrifices and push themselves further. Those with desire are willing to take risks and do the hard stuff. Without that thirst for the success you never get results bigger than your already have. #personalpowermastery #douglasvermeeren #ppm

Absolutely absolute! by Douglas Vermeeren

I am absolutely thrilled about life. I wish I could say that I felt that way everyday and in every way all the time. The truth of the matter is that I get frustrated, hurt and angry sometimes just like everyone else. I am human after all. But I do find that there are several things I can do that keep me more dialled in to my best self and I’d like to share a few of those things:

1)Have a mission, set goals and revisit them often

As I feel like I have a purpose I become on purpose. It’s very difficult to stay frustrated or bummed out when I have something that I am working on. An idle mind imagines and dwells with more problems. When we are busy working at something that excites us we don’t have time or energy to waste.

thAs I regularly revisit those goals I am able to reignite myself and get more on purpose. It’s hard to stay down when you are busy. In addition, by revisiting these goals often I can often see progress (even if it’s it not much) and that motivates me to do more and helps me feel good that I’ve made progress. I’ve consistently found with my students in Personal Power Mastery and confirmed it multiple times in my own life that when we make progress we are most happy.

2)Surround yourself with people who lift you higher.

You’ve heard it said that we become like those we surround ourselves with. And you’ve also heard hat tour income, relationships and habits will gravitate to the five people you spend the most time with. I believe that’s because we rise to the expectations of our peers and we would do more for others than we often are willing to do for ourselves. A great example of this are most mothers I know. They serve everyone around them and are often the last ones to get taken care of. They do more for others than they will do for themselves.

Surround yourself with amazing people and you will rise to an amazing life.

3) Decide what you will tolerate and raise your standards

You get absolutely what you decide your standards are. This not only applies to your finances, relationships, organization, cleanliness and so forth. Yes these are all standards, but this also applies to your thinking as well. You set the standards of what you will allow for your thinking. You can control your thinking to allow certain thoughts to stay. You’ve heard it said that happiness is a choice. So is worthiness. So is confidence. So is contentment. And any other positive thought you wish to have in your life. Set your standards high and put your focus on thoughts that empower you. When you have a thought that doesn’t make you feel good don’t give it space to grow. Dismiss it and remind yourself that it is below your standards of thought.

Stay tuned for more! Until then remember that now is your time! Make it count!
