Douglas Vermeeren – A key to creating lasting change

Change is the only real constant in the universe. Nothing ever stays the same. Change however is one of the most resisted principles in human nature. Internally we know we want more and need to become more in order to get it. However we find change and deliberate adaptation often difficult. (Which is strange considering we are the planets best organisms at creating change and adaptation.)

We don’t like change because it can bring stretching and discomfort. It can also lead us into new and unknown experiences. The only time when change is clearly welcome is when we are escaping a pain or fear far worse than the uncomfortable or unknown experience.

Douglas Vermeeren ppm 38The key then to drawing lasting desired changes into our life is to see a better future once that change has been achieved. I’m not just speaking about visualization or a creating a vision board, although those are excellent tools for establishing this vision. I am really talking about a clear view of how these changes will effect us long term. How they will effect those around us. How they will effect our future opportunities. Recognizing how these changes fit with our values. How participating in this new version of ourselves will produce results over the long term.

When we start to see a compelling and powerful future these changes become easier to make. The bottom line is that until we see this kind of a future it is very difficult to pursue the idea of change. When we leave a place of challenge we are not inclined to trade it for uncertainty.

No one acts strongly or commits to outcomes they doubt are achievable. We act on what we believe and emotionally desire! See your future in powerful and positive ways and you’re already heading in that direction.
